Readout of Secretary-General’s meeting with Tammam Salam, Prime Minister of Lebanon

The Secretary-General met today with His Excellency Mr. Tammam Salam, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lebanon. 
The Secretary General and Prime Minister Salam discussed the ongoing impact of the Syrian conflict on Lebanon and welcomed the united international support for Lebanon's security and stability.
The Secretary-General commended Prime Minister Salam for his leadership, and expressed hope that a President of the Republic would be elected as soon as possible.
The Secretary-General thanked Lebanon for its generous hospitality to refugees from Syria and for its continued commitment to the full implementation of Security Council resolution 1701 (2006).
They discussed the need for the international community to do more to share the responsibility of assisting the refugee presence in Lebanon and to help support the Lebanese Armed Forces.

Landmine explodes under vehicle for Spanish phalange in Ibl Saki

NNA - NNA field reporter in Marjeyoun on Wednesday said that a landmine exploded at around 15:30 under the wheels of a vehicle belonging to the Spanish unit affiliated with UNIFIL in the outskirts of Ibl Al Saki. No casualties were reported in this regard.
